The Rapture: the day the church flies away Justin Brown; 5/31/09

Rapture ---> Taken up

Fell asleep ---> Died

Jesus can come back at any time!

Your riches have rotted and your garments have become moth-eaten. Your gold and your silver have rusted; and their rust will be a witness against you and will consume your flesh like fire. It is in the last days that you have stored up your treasure! Behold, the pay of the laborers who mowed your fields, and which has been withheld by you, cries out against you; and the outcry of those who did the harvesting has reached the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth. You have lived luxuriously on the earth and led a life of wanton pleasure; you have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter. You have condemned and put to death the righteous man; he does not resist you. Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. The farmer waits for the precious produce of the soil, being patient about it, until it gets the early and late rains. You too be patient; strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is near. Do not complain, brethren, against one another, so that you yourselves may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing right at the door.

James 5:2-9

We don't earn the Lord's favor!

The Lord left believers here to tell people about Him.

And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

Matthew 28:18-20

Cindy! Thinking about the rapture is in itself and 'out of body experience' isn't it?... heh heh...(not funny enough for you?)

Anyway, what an important subject isn't it! I was hoping to get into the whole 'harpodzo' deal which, as you're familiar, is where the idea of 'snatching away' and 'rapture' come from...that's seaman's talk for harpoon!

Thanks again for the summary and I look forward to saying 'Hi!' on Sunday! DV
