Armor of God, Andrew; 3/15/09

This is a spiritual fight, we need to put on the Armor Of God every day!
Be of sober spirit, be on the alert Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
First Peter 5:8
Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
James 4:7
Christians are able to fight Satan.
Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE;in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

Angel Of The Lord, Eric Bauer; 3/1/09
Key Verse:
"Now Gideon perceived that He was the Angel of the Lord. So Gideon said, ―Alas, O Lord God! For I have seen the Angel of the Lord face to face." Judges 6:22
What makes this angel unique is that He speaks, acts, and responds to people not just as a messenger of God, but as God Himself. For instance, in Gen. 16, the angel of the Lord appears to Hagar in the wilderness and gives her this promise: "I will multiply your descendants exceedingly, so that they shall not be counted for multitude" (v. 10). "Then she called the name of the Lord who spoke to her, You-Are-the-God-Who-Sees" (v. 13). The angel in this passage promises something that only God can do, and says that He will do it Himself (in the first person).

Let's Discover Angels! 11-11-09
Welcome back to Discovery everybody! I pray you had a blessed Christmas and New Year!
This semester we’re going to make some discoveries about Angels, it should be interesting and fun!
There was no teaching time this week, so we could get reacquainted in our small groups.
Each week game time will be led by a different Discovery leader!
This week it was headed up by Matt and Will.
We got into our small groups. There were 3 things that were to be accomplished: #1, Draw a horse, #2, Make a box out of paper, #3, Make a paper airplane. We only had 6 pieces of paper. It was fun! When time was up, a leader from each small group took the artwork up for the final winner.
